Through the creation of its open ecosystem and the accompanying community, TechBiM establishes a highly valuable marketplace with a significant concentration of potential customers for the various stakeholders.

Free choice of data source and application

It is intended for the User to have freedom to select the product data from any source with which they wish to work, and that can be injected into a Generic Object of TechBiM using an application built on top of the BIM modelling software of their choice:

  • Revit,
  • DDS-CAD,
  • BricsCAD,
  • Vectorworks,
  • Archicad,
  • …

What does TechBiM provide and what does it not?

In accordance with the principle of the open ecosystem, TechBiM provides only the TechBiM Content (= Common Object Library) within the TechBiM Content Suite and delivers TechBiM:

  • no Product Data (D)
  • no Specific Object Geometries (SOg)
  • no Specific Objects (SO)
  • no Services
  • no Applications

New or modified Generic Objects (GOs) are submitted by individual BIM users or Certified Content Providers to the Technical Committee of TechBiM. Upon validation, these will be included in the shared library and made accessible to all.

Through this co-creation, the TechBiM Community is advancing rapidly together.
