Discover the digital future for technical installations!

Recently, we had a number of enjoyable TechBiM meetings, hosted by Buildwise  in Brussels and substantively supported by Techlink, the Belgian professional federation for technical installations. After these meetings, one with engineering firms, one with installers, and one with manufacturers, one thing is certain: TechBiM is alive! The generic TechBiM library has been used by numerous engineering firms for many years. There is also a growing interest in TechBiM among installers.

However, a significant obstacle is the lack of reliable product data that is easily accessible and can be dynamically integrated into the BIM model. In response to strong market demand, the primary focus for the coming months will be to facilitate the seamless integration of manufacturers.

This means that it becomes possible, in addition to adding and using generic BIM objects:

• to link digital permalinks to these generic objects: these permalinks provide you with access to reliable data and product assets such as technical datasheets, certificates, etc., directly from the Single Source of Truth, that is, directly from the manufacturer.
• to download all relevant assets with the push of a button.
• to progressively enrich objects with manufacturer-specific data.
• to transfer the information to the as-built file, ERP software, etc.
• to use these permalinks in a variety of other applications.

On 7 December at 1:30 PM, ThorbiQ, a technology provider for TechBiM, will provide clarification and demonstrate various aspects during a (free) digital information session lasting 45 minutes.
